I came to the Farmers Market Saturday and bought a few of the mini cupcakes and got home to sample them, OMG they were the best and moistest cakes I have had in awhile. I have even tried the famous "Sprinkles" cupcakes and they are nowhere close to being as good as yours. Cupcake-a-licious is a new online business started by Damascus resident Christina Kooch, who offers unusual cupcakes for any occasion. Kooch said she came up with the idea because she "likes to bake and was always making cupcakes for my kids and their events." She does the baking in her home. Customers can pick up the cupcakes, or she will deliver them, with fees based on ZIP codes. In addition to offering traditional cupcake flavors, Kooch has created many specialty flavors, including one called Moose-a-Maxamus that her kids helped her create. It is a chocolate cupcake sandwiched between two chocolate-chip cookies and covered with chocolate frosting. Other customer favorites have been the layered cheesecake and chocolate mint cupcakes. Flavors offered with children in mind include Rice Krispies, cookie dough and peanut-butter-and-jelly. The cupcakes are offered in three sizes: itty-bitty mini, meet me in the middle and jumbo-a-licous. Forty-eight hours' notice is preferred for all orders, and Kooch is also willing to accommodate requests for healthier alternatives.
